Apple's App Store is turning 5 years old on July 10. The marketplace, which was unveiled in 2008 by Apple co-founder Steve Jobs, was designed to replace the Web-based programs that were initially running on iOS. And before long, the App Store became a massive hit that propelled Apple's iPhone and soon after, iPad, to the very top of the mobile landscape.
